Texas at Texas Tech Score Predictions

Well, there is no doubt that Texas is back to the drawing board after a narrow victory over OK State. Texas has a lot to fix and a lot of preparation ahead before they play Texas Tech on the road in Lubbock this coming Saturday. I predicted the game versus OK State to be a shootout because they were averaging 47 ppg versus our 48. It turns out that both teams only scored a little over half their marks. So, normally I wouldn't make the same mistake of calling the Tech game a shootout, but the option of going "double for nothing" is just to tempting to pass up. "It's going to be a shootout!" TEXAS 59 - Texas Tech 48

I'm gonna have to go with Tech in this one since UT is pretty one-dimensional. 35 - 31. Should be a great one!

Texas Tech is a great team, but I think UT is far from one-dimensional. You don't knock off 3 top-ranked teams in a row by being one-dimensional. Greg Davis has done an amazing job with our offense and Will Muschamp has totally turned around our defense. We had one "off" defensive performance against OK State and have allowed 30+ plus points by other teams. However, those other teams were OU and Mizzou. Texas Tech has yet to play any team of Texas's caliber, so yeah, they've racked up points and held opponents pretty well. But their defense will meet a challenge it cannot control. Texas Tech will try to "outscore" Texas, but in the end, both teams' defenses will decide the game. After a close game vs. OSU, Texas's defense will be looking to redeem themselves against the rush, which shouldn't be that hard versus Tech. However, our secondary is going to have to wake up and hold off the Harrell-Crabtree connection, which I suspect they will be focusing on in practice. TEXAS wins 59-48.

The thing with saying that Texas has beaten 3 top ranked teams is a little flawed. 1. OU is going to probably lose again if not 2 more times this season. With their horrible defense, they don't belong anywhere near the top 10. 2. Mizzou is waaay overrated. All hype for Chase Daniel made up by ESPN. 3. OSU is a legit top ranked team. That was a great game, and both schools can hang their head high.

I'm going to have to agree with you on that. Chase Daniel isn't the Heisman quarterback that the media portrayed him as. And OU does stand a chance of losing again, especially to OSU. And OSU is an amazing team. BUT, Texas Tech has not had to face any truly formidable opponents so they have not really proven that they belong within the same ranks as Texas or OSU. I believe that OSU, even with their loss to Texas, is a much better team than Texas Tech. Right now, Texas Tech is an unknown in my book, but that'll change once we see them against a real challenge next weekend. If Tech shows up focused and gives Texas the kind of game that OSU did, then they'll have my utmost respect and support as a fan. But come Saturday, Nov. 1, I think we'll finally get to see the difference between a Tech team with a few star players and a Texas team with a couple of star players and great coordination. And the difference is Texas's dominance.

Texas 45 Texas Tech 42
This is a very big game and i feel that although Tech has a very high octane offense and can score quickly. Tech has yet to play a defense that is stout, quick and has a bend, but do not break defensive attitude. Although this game is in Lubbock, Look for Texas to open up a can of whoop ass on Tech. Tech is very well on its way to the mountain top, but not this year. Hook'em Horns

Should be fun to watch even more since GameDay is going to be there, plus it's the ABC Saturday night game.
