Houston Oak Ridge outlook for 2007
Though coach Barrett said the team is just about the same as last year, he said he feels the pieces are in place to make a run at the fourth playoff spot in 15-5A. Quarterback Aaron Dunahoe rushed for 500 yards and 10 touchdowns last year, and made honorable mention all-district. He can hurt opponents through the air and the ground and returns after starting eight of Oak Ridge's 11 games last season. Strong safety Andrew Teague had 49 tackles and 2 interceptions last season.

Lufkin Panthers outlook for 2007
It looks as if 2007 might be a rebuilding year or reloading in Lufkin's case. The role of wide receiver Eric Johnson will expand with the graduation of all-stater Dez Bryant to Oklahoma State and Mike Gundy. Tailback Trevon Lewis brings much needed experience to the Panther offense. Defensive lineman Jamarkus McFarland was the district sophmore of the year and could be Lufkin's next top-flight recruit. The Woodlands outlook for 2007
Offensively, running back Tracy Milo will help lead the way and provide experience for the Highlanders. Last year he rushed for 1,090 yards and 12 touchdowns.The Woodlands loses 9 defensive starters, including a very talented secondary, will force the Woodlands to rebuild what was a formidable defense in 2006, but the Highlanders still remain the closest competitor to district favorite Lufkin.
