This week on Sports Stars of Tomorrow, we’re unveiling my rankings of the top five basketball players from the class of 2010.

I’m not Jay Bilas or anything, but I like to think that I have some authority on the subject. After all, I’ve seen most of the top players in the nation play in person, and four of the top five have been featured on the show.

Well…enough with the pats on the back. On to the rankings:

5. CORY JOSEPH – GUARD – FINDLAY PREP (HENDERSON, NV)

Cory Joseph is a point guard from Canada. Steve Nash is a point guard from Canada. Steve Nash plays in the NBA. Cory Joseph will some day play in the NBA.

Joseph is undecided on a college, but I would imagine he ends up some place better than Santa Clara (Nash’s alma mater).

4. JOSH SELBY – GUARD – LAKE CLIFTON (BALTIMORE, MD)

Selby has no true position, and I mean that in the best possible way. He’s comfortable playing both point guard and shooting guard. He has a silky-smooth shot that will make him a 20-point-per-game scorer in college. Selby originally committed to Tennessee, but backed out of that commitment and is now wide open on a college choice.

3. JARED SULLINGER – FORWARD – NORTHLAND (COLUMBUS, OH)

Sullinger is the youngest son of Ohio high school coaching legend “Satch” Sullinger, and Jared’s two older brothers both played college basketball. Because of these blood lines, Sullinger might be the most college-ready big man in America. Next season, you’ll see him stick around Columbus when he plays for Ohio State.

2. HARRISON BARNES – FORWARD – AMES (AMES, IA)

Barnes is the apple in every college coach’s eye. He’s a 6-foot-6 small forward who can score from everywhere on the floor. Barnes’ college choices are a teenage basketball player’s dream. He’ll pick between Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, UCLA, and Iowa State.

1. BRANDON KNIGHT – GUARD – PINE CREST (FORT LAUDERDALE, FL)

Brandon Knight might go down as the best high school basketball player in Florida history. He’s been starting at the Pine Crest School since he was in eighth grade. Last season, he scored 29 points in the fourth quarter of a regional final game to lead Pine Crest to the state tournament. Knight also has a 4.0 grade point average. He’s undecided on a college.
